I just want to say something. This is Santa. People say Santa is not real. We are told as children he is, but then we find out, such magic is impossible to our knowledge of the world,. Santa becomes almost a joke, as we get older, laughing about receiving socks as kids, when we would love them now.
Santa Exists. Santa is the spirit that this man, showed this child. Santa is a power, i do not care what religion you are. He is just as strong as an angel, or the guiding spirit from any other religion, Ancestors, spirit guides, whatever they are called.
Santa is universal. He is like air, water, and trees. He is needed, He has many names, and long history. Those who think it's about bribing kids to be good, or a simple fun thing, or just a tradition, have not fully embraced what Santa is.
Santa can be black, asian, hispanic, white, or purple and blue with red spots. It does not matter. The person, who portrays Santa, does not matter. Those who take up the mantle, are Heros. Every Mall Santa, has his heartbreaking story, of that one kid.. who stuck him to the core. The one kid he wanted to hug tight and never let go.
We are taught that kids ask for toys. That might be true. But often what is asked for? Peace!, For mommy and/or Daddy to not have to work so hard, or not be sad all the time. For their siblings to get what THEY want, or need. For health of friends of family. The toys are secondary. The spirit, Santa, allows children, to express, what they truly want deep in their hearts and souls. Even if it is to a mall santa. Because Santa, is more than gifts. He is Spirit. He is powerful in the eyes of children. He can make the WORLD better.
And every child, is special and loved by Santa. Even naughty children, are loved by Santa. The gift of coal, was used to give heat to a home....So even the naughty children, were able to have something of use.
Santa is real. It does not matter what skin tone, bearded or not, even FEMALE or not. What matters is the spirit and the unique needs, that spirit of love and giving, gives to all of us, before the world takes our magic, and creates cynics. The world changes us, makes us bitter, and scared. Santa, never changes, Santa Loves, and Santa is there for every child. No matter who, steps up to the role of nurturing and care.
Remember this. this holiday season, and every day of the year. Santa is love. Santa sees no race, income, or disability. Santa..... is part of who we are, and what we NEED in this society we live in. We all, adults and children, Need the spirit of Santa, in our lives.
SO when my daughter comes home from school in a year or two, and tells me santa isn't real, in tears, i am going to tell her. " No Honey, Santa is real., Santa is Love. Santa is compassion. And Santa..... is Forever.

While that was all i posted on facebook i want to expand upon what happens when we
Loose" Santa. When we loose that magic of childhood. Santa is one of the first " Lies. We replace love and compassion and understanding with the idea that parents, lie to children, why? to make them behave. That is not Santa. Santa is Hope. The original Santa, as best we know comes from Saint Nicolas, who gave gifts to those in need. That is what Santa is about. True love and compassion that is often lost in the Christmas season.

When we teach children that we Lie about who and what Santa is, then they are given the first in many rather harsh, and soul crushing life lessons. We have enough of those. By the time our children graduate high school, have lost The concept of Santa should be cherished, and embraced, not thrown out as soon as your child is " to old" After all, what he stands for, is priceless, timeless and truly values lost in today's rather desperate society. We are empty. We are lost. And many do not even know why.
We loose the values given by the "fictional" figures that taught those very needed values to us. When we tell children Santa is not real, we tell them those values, are also, not real. How can a child, or even a adult for that matter truly believe in those values, when they were presented as such a lie. As adults we try, these things are important, but there is a dark mark deep in our hearts, that taint such values. They are tainted by a lack of trust formed between parent and child.
Santa is real. And there is no reason under the sun, we should keep this sadness in our collective society, and then we are always full of the hunger and need to fill that dark mark.
Some of us look back to times before, so much simpler, much less of the soul crushign depression, sadness and bitter taste in our mouths. For even with lack of technology, healthcare, and material possessions, people seemed to be so much happier, in general, than we ever dream of being today.
And that my friends, is why everyone needs Santa. Children, and Adults.
so I leave you with a hashtag, cause i am a dork.
#SantaLives.
(note) And i swear to Gods, people need to stop complaining about a BLACK SANTA. Your ridiculous, Grow up. Seriously. Look in the mirror, and tell yourself ALL the nasty things you want to say about it......and realize how foolish, and petty you are. Have a wake up call. Santa.... is UNIVERSAL. The Santa Spirit as we understand him now.... is of NO religion, NO race. and above all NO HATE! You should be ashamed!
